Salary Grade: Educational Grade-3/EG-03

Position Summary: 

Instructional Mentors provide instructional mentoring support to novice
teachers in high need schools across the district. In addition to 1:1 mentoring, Instructional
Mentors provide frequent professional learning sessions to support teacher development. As
an Instructional Mentor, individuals will influence, coach, motivate, and develop groups of
novice teachers to reach ambitious goals with students.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
• Four (4) years teaching experience (highly preferred)
• Two (2) years recent classroom teaching experience preferred
• Proven track record of raising student achievement
• Previous experience designing and facilitating professional development for teachers
(highly preferred)
• Experience with Teach Like a Champion techniques (preferred)
• Experience with large, urban school district (preferred)
• Experience and comfort providing direct feedback to teachers and colleagues, both
written and verbal, that leads to immediate improvement
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.:
• Possess or ability to obtain an Oklahoma teaching certificate
• Knowledge of professional development and adult learning theories
• Knowledge and understanding of curricular frameworks, pedagogy, and quality
classroom materials
• Familiarity with Oklahoma Academic Standards and curricular resources
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
