24-07649 Administrative Branch Manager
The Employee Relations and Training Branch is responsible for providing training to Department of Revenue (DOR)staff as well as providing communications support for the Department through internal and external websites, coordination with Cabinet communications staff, associated vendors, and other channels.
The Administrative Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing these activities. The branch is active in exploring modern, adult learning techniques to upskill the department's employees, to include training on the newest integrated tax system currently in development. Responsibilities of this position include onboarding new employees to the department, overseeing all the planning and training activities for DOR employees, reviewing and modernizing department correspondence, and overseeing the department's internal and external websites to keep it modern, up-to-date, and accurate.
A successful candidate will be a forward-thinking, strategic planner with strong communication and organizational skills.

- Required to successfully complete a background investigation including an FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check).
- Required to comply with all tax laws.
- Mostly at a desk using a computer and telephone.
- Some travel for training and education.

2. Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of professional administrative experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in public or business administration or a related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

3. Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
