Deputy Corporation Counsel

Chippewa County is accepting applications for a Deputy Corporation Counsel position within the Department of Administration – Corporation Counsel Division. The job duties of the Deputy Corporation Counsel include but are not limited to performing the duties of Deputy Corporation Counsel as provided in Wis. Stats. § 59.42. In the absence or in place of the Corporation Counsel, when so directed, this position represents and advises Chippewa County leadership in civil matters and provides responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required. Practice experience in several or all areas of the following of government law preferred, but not required: child support/paternity, guardianship/protective placement; termination of parental rights, children in need of protection and/or services, juveniles, mental health commitments, public health, zoning, labor and employment, contracts, open meeting and records and real estate. License to practice law in the State of Wisconsin required. Member in the State Bar of Wisconsin required. A valid drivers licenses is required.

Starting Wage: $43.47 - $50.54 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $60.65 per hour.
