Family and Consumer Science Teacher

New London Local Schools is a small, close-knit rural district located in Huron County, Ohio, serving approximately 900 students. Our Family and Consumer Science (FCS) program has been a cornerstone of our high school curriculum, and with the upcoming retirement of our long-serving teacher, we are excited to find an individual passionate about modernizing and leading this essential program into the future.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Family and Consumer Science teacher with a vision to reimagine our program while maintaining its core values. This role involves working with district and building level leadership to develop curricula that align with Ohio’s standards, engaging students with practical life skills, and collaborating with faculty to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and teach engaging lessons aligned with Ohio’s FCS standards.
• Inspire students through project-based learning in areas such as financial literacy, nutrition, child development, and career exploration.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure students receive well-rounded instruction.
• Participate in professional development and school initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education or a related field.
• Ohio teaching license in Family and Consumer Sciences or eligibility to obtain one.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for empowering students to develop essential life skills.
