Lead PreK Teacher
We are looking to add a Lead PreK Teacher to our team. This person possesses strong leadership skills with excellent classroom management of both large and small groups of children. Desired candidates are fun, loving, caring, patient, and must be willing to learn and adapt to the environment of the center and the classroom. Desired candidates must also be willing to be a team player, and be willing to provide guidance to assistant staff members as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- 18+ years of age, HS diploma or equivalent
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
- Previous experience in licensed child care center; Lead teacher experience preferred but not required when meeting above education requirements
- Knowledgeable of Ohio's child care licensing rules and regulations, as well as Step Up to Quality requirements
Responsibilities
- Providing active supervision of children ages 3-5
- Creating and implementing weekly activity plans following Creative Curriculum & ELDS
- Meet professional development requirements annually
- Maintain a safe & sanitary environment
- Assist children with toileting, including diapering/potty training of some children
- Follow the daily schedule of the classroom including opportunities for free play, active gross motor activities, music & movement, meal times, and nap time
- Model desired teacher behavior and help guide staff in classroom management
