Program Specialist
Edmonds College Pre-ETS Department is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Program Specialist that can lead outreach, recruitment and retention for the program with youth between the ages of 14-21 with varying disabilties.
They will be responsible for representing the college in the community to recruit new students and learners and network with high schools and community partners to attract a diverse group of students with disabilities (IEPs, 504s or documented disabilities). With general direction from the Director of Pre-employment Transition Services, this position plans, develops, and implements college and job site tours and high school-based workshops, particularly in the surrounding counties. For this position, it is required for the candidate to attend fairs, host events, and present workshops in person at the college, high schools, and online as they develop partnerships to help allow for current and future student referrals. They will also be coordinating all aspects of Pre-ETS program services, providing technical assistance and specialized consultation to program participants, staff and outside entities, and recommending resolution for complex problems and issues related to the program.

- Able to deliver curriculum and instruction in workshop format with training
- Excellent ability to use Google Applications and Zoom to deliver services
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, GED, OR equivalent education.
- Two years of experience in a higher education setting or similar field supporting students with disabilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Outreach to recruit students to program through workshops, school visits and past and present networks.
- Visiting and organizing attendance of fairs to increase participation in programs at all levels.
- Respond to program inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Anticipates potential conflict and attempts resolution before problems occur; plans, evaluates, and consults with staff and outside entities to identify problems, explores solutions and alternatives, and recommends resolutions designed to meet the goals and objectives of the program;
- Assists in developing and establishing procedures and policies to implement new programs and/or activities and in formulating new program policies, procedures and standards;
- Conducts research and analyzes data to identify program needs and participant eligibility for continued program participation;
- Coordination of program events and meetings each quarter of the year to meet contract deliverables;
- Compilation of program contract deliverable materials and reports for workplace readiness, self advocacy and work based learning activities and internships;
- Maintenance of Google and department web pages;
- Support in the designing and delivering workshop content;
- Communicating, Tracking billing and organizing systems to fulfill contract obligations
- Collaborating with RTCs and necessary partners to fulfill contract deliverables
- Purchasing, budget tracking, and account reconciliation for the program;
- Collaborate with director in the creation of quarterly/annual class schedules, including creation and input of classes, rooming, and instructor assignments;
- Communicate and post notices of schedule changes and class cancellations;
- Participate in and engage in College division and Professional development opportunities
- Use Curriculog to track course and program requirement sheets, and
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Works with program participants, staff, representatives of outside organizations and/or members of the public in defining needs and planning, designing, and developing specialized program activities; monitors and tracks participant eligibility and participation in program activities;
- Anticipates potential conflict and attempts resolution before problems occur; plans, evaluates, and consults with staff and outside entities to identify problems, explores solutions and alternatives, and recommends resolutions designed to meet the goals and objectives of the program;
- Assists in developing and establishing procedures and policies to implement new programs and/or activities and in formulating new program policies, procedures and standards;
- Assists higher-level staff in the preparation of complex comprehensive plans, summaries, recommendations, progress or special reports;
- Conducts research and analyzes data to identify program needs and participant eligibility for continued program participation;
- Tracks legislative issues and develops or coordinates changes to RCW and WAC rules specific to the program;
- Conducts investigations, recommends corrective action or testifies at administrative hearings on behalf of the organization;
- Writes and edits publications, reports, pamphlets, or newsletters for internal and external distribution
