Wickham Animal Hospital & Boarding is currently looking for a full time or part time associate. New graduates are welcome - we offer a fantastic opportunity for mentoring. Our hospital is minutes from downtown Melbourne, the Indian River where you can join people paddle-boarding and kayaking, and the beautiful beaches of Florida. There are hiking trails that you can walk to from our hospital so they may be enjoyed during a lunch break, and miles of walking and bike trails that traverse through Melbourne, Palm Bay, and Malabar. Melbourne is a growing coastal town near Kennedy Space Center, Disney, Sea World, and Orlando if you wish to enjoy the attractions of Florida on your days off, and Tampa makes for a great weekend getaway!

We are a fun, family oriented hospital that was originally started in 1979. Wickham Animal Hospital is a small animal hospital - cats and dogs only - that currently has 1.5 veterinarians and 20 staff members. We work with our staff to further their knowledge base, as they are the first voice and the first face that our clients hear and see. We achieve this via monthly staff meetings, bimonthly wet labs, and numerous learning opportunities to ensure that we have the best team possible. These activities are optional for the staff, yet always have excellent turnout due to the enthusiasm for learning that we cultivate. As a direct result, we have very little turnover and an incredibly strong team.

We actively strive to give our patients the best medicine possible and are always pushing forward to learn and implement the latest medical advancements. We have state of the art equipment including ultrasound, digital radiology, ultrasonic dental equipment, and a fully equipped surgical suite, lab, and treatment area.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated veterinarian looking for a rewarding career in a fun and family-like environment. The full time schedule entails 4 weekdays and a rotating Saturday. A part time schedule is negotiable. We work around family events, long-awaited voyages, or other life events. Our office hours start at 7:30am on surgical days, 8:00am on non-surgical days. We wrap up appointments by 5:00pm. Saturdays we are open 8:00am - 11:30am. Pay is based on ProSal and starts with a base of $90,000 for new graduates, negotiable for veterinarians with experience. A veterinarian with two or more years of experience will easily exceed this base and is projected to exceed $150,000 if a 4 day work week is maintained. Vacation time, paid CE, licensing, and memberships to AVMA, FVMA, VIN, etc are all included. We also cover 75% of health and dental insurance, a 401K with a 5% match, staff discount on veterinary products and care for your personal pets. We also supply an annual bonus in addition to the monthly ProSal earned bonus.
