I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG), a science and technical services company supporting the U.S. Federal Government, is seeking a Digital Content Specialist with a specialty in video production to join our team supporting NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) in Silver Spring, Maryland.
This position is within the NOAA Environmental Visualization Laboratory, a team with diverse expertise, including media communications, graphic design, education, computer programming and systems engineering.

Position Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Digital Content Specialist with expertise in video production to join our dynamic team.
This role is ideal for a creative professional who excels at blending compelling storytelling, technical expertise, and digital strategy to enhance content across multiple platforms. You will be responsible for planning, scripting, creating, and managing multimedia content—especially short-form informational videos—to showcase the environmental science and technology work done at NESDIS. Your work will span platforms such as the NESDIS website and @NOAASatellites social media channels, ensuring our message reaches and engages diverse audiences effectively. A background in science is also highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities

Work Environment: Able to work in a fast-paced onsite office environment at NESDIS HQ in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Content Creation: Develop, script, shoot, edit, and produce high-quality videos (mainly short-form) and digital content for use across websites, social media, and other digital platforms.

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with team members to conceptualize and execute content strategies that align with organizational goals and audience needs.

Project Management: Oversee multimedia projects, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with branding guidelines.

Platform Optimization: Adapt content for optimal performance on different platforms, including YouTube, X, Facebook, Instagram, and more.

Analytics & Reporting: Track content performance and audience engagement metrics, and use data insights to improve future projects.

Collaboration: Work closely with VizLab team members, including writers, graphic designers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive messaging and visuals.

Brand Stewardship: Ensure all content adheres to organizational branding and messaging standards.
- Social Media: Some social media work may also be required as needed.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in media production, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in digital content creation and video production.
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
- Familiarity with motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects) is a plus.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace applications (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Meet, etc.) and other enterprise software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in camera operation, lighting, and audio recording equipment.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and their content requirements.
- Knowledge of SEO and video optimization techniques.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent organizational, communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Creativity and a passion for storytelling.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $64,000 - $80,000
