Social Media Manager (Contract)

What we're looking for

Cruisebound is looking for a Social Media Manager to support our growing business. This role blends travel and creativity, with approximately two weeks per month spent gathering content onboard cruises and two weeks managing social media assets remotely.

Before you apply

  • Contract Position: This is a full-time, 6-month contract with potential for a salaried role based on performance.
  • Eligibility: Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S., hold a valid passport, and, if applicable, have a multi-entry visa for the U.S.
  • Travel Requirements: You’ll be on a cruise for ~2 weeks per month. The schedule will be planned in advance but is subject to change. The company covers flights, transport, cruise fare (which includes all meals and access to ship amenities), gratuities, and Wi-Fi while on the cruise.
  • Remote Work: When not traveling, this is a fully remote position.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Partner with our cruise expert (a key feature in much of our content) to shoot, edit, and produce engaging content for our product and social media channels.
  • Trend Analysis: Collaborate with our lifecycle marketing manager to analyze trends and create content tailored to our followers’ needs and interests.
  • Asset management: Assist with organizing, editing, and preparing content for use in various channels.
  • Team Collaboration: Meet with the content team to review and approve content, brainstorm ideas, and discuss future trends.

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Creative Chops: Knows how to set up photos and videos to create visually appealing content
  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated success in building and growing a social media presence (personal or professional). Multi-channel experience preferred (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Youtube)
  • Trend Savvy: Ability to spot and capitalize on emerging trends in social media.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Technologically inclined: Makes use of the latest and greatest social media tools, including AI tools, to increase efficiency of content processes
  • Team Values: Embodies curiosity, humility, and accountability.
  • Practical Logistics: Fluent in English, located in the Eastern or Central U.S. time zones, and preferably within commuting distance of a major airport.

 

Compensation and benefits

$20,000–$25,000 for a 6-month contract, depending on experience. This has the potential to turn into a salaried position if the initial contract is successful. Looking for a January or February start date.
