Legal Internship

This role is a paid internship and can be remote within the Eastern and Central time zones. This is a year long internship starting in February working 15-20 hours per week.

What the Role Is 

We are seeking an Intern to join our Legal function within the Legal & Compliance department. Our Legal team focuses on mitigating risk and strives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Focus areas cover a vast ranges of subject matter expertise and our team supports the organization through providing a dedicated resource to answer questions and provide guidance on day-day business activities. 

How You Will Spend Your Time? 

  • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of findings for a variety of projects as assigned by supervising attorney
  • Prepare first drafts of certain agreements, other legal documents and correspondence under guidance of supervising attorney
  • Assist with maintaining electronic contract database under guidance of Senior Legal Manager & Paralegal
  • Distribute contracts with the contract database e-signatures tool to authorize signatories under the direction of the Legal department in conjunction with applicable departmental stakeholders
  • Assist Legal team with developing and updating company-wide training materials and a variety of regulatory guidance resources
  • Assist with other projects as assigned. 

Who You Are… 

  • Current second or third year graduate (law school) student able to commit to a yearlong internship
  • Knowledge of principles and processes in the field
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, internally and externally
  • Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical Requirements
While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

The hourly rate established for this position is $33.00. Actual starting pay may differ based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
