Entry-Level and Lateral Police Officer

The Lombard Police Department strives to keep Lombard a safe and secure community through a dedicated and professional patrol force as well as establishing partnerships with the community to prevent crime and promote community safety.

Police officers must have strong communication skills, physical fitness, and have the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.

• Officers must be able to read and write in English fluently.
• Officers must be observant and a critical thinker
• Officers must have a strong sense of integrity
• Officers must be comfortable with carrying a firearm while performing their job
• Officers must be comfortable with operating a motor vehicle regularly.
• Officers must be able to work with other co-workers and collaborate efforts to effectively complete their goals.
