Non-Profit Service Corps Position

Non - Profit Corp Member Position

Looking for DECEMBER 2024 Graduates

Blue Ridge Service Corps (BRSC) is a six-month service corps program in which young adults build intentional community, work full time at social service and social change agencies, and explore themes of spiritual, personal, and leadership growth. We're looking for December graduates to join us for our January 2025 - June 2025 Program Year

An ideal BRSC Fellow is committed to working with diverse community members, brings a willingness to explore and practice spirituality and leadership development and is prepared to work in a professional setting. BRSC Fellows should be ready to ask challenging questions of themselves and each other about how to live simply, with integrity and justice, while doing meaningful service in the local community.

BRSC Fellows will work at partner site placement organizations addressing a wide range of social and environmental issues including, but not limited to economic justice, housing and homelessness, education, environmental sustainability, and youth justice. Each corps member is matched with one of our Partner Organizations and works 32 hours/week. These local non-profit organizations and social service agencies address diverse social justice issues and provide needed services to members of our community.

Examples of potential local non-profit partners are:

Henderson County Habitat for Humanity

Interfaith Assistance Ministry

Children & Family Resource Center

The Free Clinics

Center for Spiritual Wisdom.

Deerfield Retirement Community

One day of the week is dedicated to the Blue Ridge Service Corps community, where we will spend time together in personal and spiritual development:

  • This includes mentorship by a voluntary group of adults who will lead us in spiritual direction, servant leadership, scripture, prayer, social justice, etc.
  • This also includes some fun activities for our community to bond by exploring the Asheville/Hendersonville area.

BRSC provides housing and utilities, mental health resources, a monthly stipend for personal and basic household expenses, support registering for SNAP, access to conferences and trainings, dedicated time for reflection and community building and support from staff and volunteers.

The current 6-month program will run from early January through June. This is a great opportunity for a December graduate who is looking for a a few months to grow personally through community building, service, vocational discernment, and spiritual exploration and formation, preparing you to launch into what's next on your journey.

LGBTQ+ and spanish speaking applicants are encouraged to apply.
