Police Department Intern: Recruitment and Training

This is a non-exempt, temporary, part-time position, limited to 1300 hours annually, which is funded by the PPD Recruitment and Training Grant offereed at a $21.00 Hourly Rate. The selected Intern will be working with various divisions of the Pueblo Police Department. The duties involve observing police patrol, criminal investigations, traffic laws/regulations, related criminal law enforcement activities, and a wide variety of community services.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
 

  • Observes police functions to include respond to calls, enforcement of laws, and miscellaneous services to assist the public
  • Observes criminal investigations, the gathering and processing of evidence, and courtroom testimony
  • Prepares reports and completes follow-up reports related to criminal activity
  • Skillfully communicates with a variety of people verbally and in writing
  • Complies with verbal and written instructions and orders
  • Performs in accordance with the organizational values, policies, and procedures
  • Assists with investigative functions
  • Assists with recruiting, social media, and community functions
  • Assists department with Physical Training readiness program
