Reading Specialist

The Clintonville – Beechwold Community Resources Center Kids Club after school and summer program is seeking to hire a Reading Specialist. The Reading Specialist is a contracted employee. The Reading Specialist is contracted to work 6 hours per week providing direct services at each Kids Club location. A total of 24 hours of direct services and 4 hours of administrative duties per month is required. Work hours will fluctuate depending upon program need. The Reading Specialist provides enrichment activities and, as needed, intervention services for youth ages 6-12 years old. The direct services are provided in small group settings and are aligned with Ohio’s K-12 learning standards. The Reading Specialist is responsible for conducting quarterly reading assessments, documentation, and monthly lesson plans. 

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree with previous teaching experience preferred. Qualified applicants must successfully complete a BCI & FBI background check and comply with all other Ohio Department of Children and Youth child care licensing and Step Up To Quality requirements. In addition, the contracted Reading Specialist will be responsible for providing the annual certificate for workers’ compensation.
