Job Summary
The ACAA’s Airport Security Intern will be introduced to the Airport Security Department, working in areas of security compliance and ID media processing. The intern will receive hands-on experience by participating in audits, processing internal customers attempting to receive or update a current PIT ID badge, issuing vehicle and escort badges, Sterile Area Passes, inspections, and assisting with any duties as assigned by the Manager, Airport Security.
Here is how the Airport Security Intern will help:
- Acquire knowledge regarding PIT’s Secure, SIDA, Sterile and Air Operations Area.
- Receive familiarization with TSA CFR 49 Part 1542
- Assist with the monthly auditing of CLEAR, Prohibited Items, Driver’s Training.
- Assist and participate in any tabletop drills.
- Engage with potential and current PIT ID badge holders to assist them with whatever service they require at the ID Badge Office, including renewals, re-issues, and assistance within the training room.
- Participate in any construction and/or cargo security inspections.
- Issue Sterile Area Passes (SAPs), escort badges, and vehicle passes.
- Perform tests on contracted guard services and badged employees to ensure security compliance.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications
Requirements to apply for role of Airport Security Intern are:
- Must currently be enrolled in school as an undergraduate from an accredited four-year college or university in a Criminal Justice, Aviation Management, Homeland Security or a related field.
- Must maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater.
