Specialty Projects Manager
The Specialty Projects Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of assigned projects to meet established goals and ensure timely completion within budget. This role encompasses all project phases from securing a purchase order through detailing, estimating, pricing change orders, and shop coordination when necessary. The position requires flexibility between office settings and interacting on the production floor, with the physical requirement of taking stairs and frequent movement between environments.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a project management plan, defining activities, costs, and benchmarks per customer requirements while maintaining contractual integrity.
- Create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and recommend alternative products to ensure profitability.
- Collaborate with customers, detailers, production, sales, logistics, and installers to fulfill project specifications and procedures.
- Direct and approve necessary product design changes and communicate adjustments to all relevant participants.
- Review contracts and cost estimates with the Specialty Products Sales Manager and legal team as required.
- Prepare essential drawings, material lists, and documents for purposes including customer approval, shop fabrication, field installation, and invoicing.
- Resolve project-related issues by working with Engineering, Detailers, Manufacturing, Logistics, Accounting, and suppliers.
- Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment from the sales phase to project management.
- Conduct material take-offs and interpret project specifications, contract documents, customer drawings, and emails.
- Keep work areas organized and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires working primarily in an office setting, with occasional interaction on the production floor. The position requires the physical ability to take stairs and move between different work environments.
Education, Work Experience, and Skills:
- Associate degree in a related field or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in detailing, fabrication, or a combination of both, with a focus on estimating or detailing grating projects.
- Background in metals manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), AutoCAD, 3D modeling, and MRP/ERP or CRM systems.
- Experience in managing multiple projects, high energy, results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to learning new products and processes.
