Product Engineer

Kickstart your engineering career with Ohio Gratings, Inc. as a Co-Op Student! This opportunity offers hands-on experience in product design engineering within a dynamic production environment. You'll work closely with seasoned engineers and industry experts, gaining valuable skills in AutoCAD, product development, and problem-solving. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with OGI engineers in consulting with customers, architects, and internal teams to develop efficient metal bar grating solutions.
• Assist in estimating costs and preparing detailed quotations for customized grating products and accessories.
• Contribute to the development, testing, and promotion of innovative grating products.
• Support the management of major sales order projects, from initial quotation through to final delivery.
• Participate in the technical evaluation of new product concepts, offering alternative solutions and resolving design and manufacturing challenges.
• Aid in the development of specifications, technical drawings, and prototypes based on provided criteria.
• Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues and conducting root cause analyses to enhance production processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
• Self-motivated with a passion for learning and innovation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet critical deadlines.
