Community Engagement/Outreach and Education Internship

DO NOT APPLY VIA HANDSHAKE.

Only applications submitted via email that include a completed application form found on our website (bufordpark.org) will be considered.

Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah (Friends) plans and implements native habitat restoration and enhancement projects in the Greater Mount Pisgah area. This stewardship area encompasses numerous properties where Friends serves as guest steward, property owner and partner to advance conservation and support recreation.

We use a variety of techniques such as native plant propagation, invasive species management, prescribed fire, and monitoring surveys to help restore and steward native riparian, upland, and prairie habitats.

The Friends relies on a strong base of volunteers and community support to accomplish conservation goals within each of our program areas. This community engagement takes the form of coordinating volunteer work parties, hosting tours focusing on different aspects of our work on the landscape, involvement in public conservation initiatives and tabling at partner events. This internship is a great opportunity to gain experience in volunteer program management, event coordination, communications, collaboration and community outreach.

Please visit bufordpark.org to access our application. Please complete it and submit it with your cover letter and resume.

Completed applications can be submitted directly to the Intern and Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@bufordpark.org.
