Diversity in Cancer Research Internship

The Diversity in Cancer Research Internship Program is funded by the American Cancer Society to improve diversity and inclusion in the cancer workforce by increasing the number of cancer researchers who, because of race and ethnicity, are currently underrepresented in the field. We are recruiting participants for the 2025 DICR Program for a 10-week summer intensive in Miami and year-round mentoring and career development activities. DICR participants will be immersed in hands-on, innovative biomedical research, clinical shadowing, career development sessions, and networking events with exceptional faculty members from Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Qualified candidate must be enrolled in a Florida institution of higher education who is a current sophomore or junior (other undergraduates considered). Students who are minorities and/or from groups underrepresented in the sciences are strongly encouraged to apply.  There is no citizenship requirement.

We will provide a stipend and housing on our Coral Gables campus.

Our 2024 DICR program applications will open on November 1, 2024. Click here to receive updates about the DICR application. Applications are due back 11:59 PM ET, January 17, 2025
