ACCOUNTING CLERK

Overview

Someburros is looking to hire an accounting clerk who will assist with day-to-day accounting activities including A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations as well as balance sheet GL maintenance. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

CORE ACCOUNTING ROLE:

  • Review and approve Daily Sales Summary from POS.
  • Perform essential functions of accounts payable to make sure that invoices, credit card receipts, paid-outs, and other forms of payment are inputted accurately and paid on time.
  • Perform the activities of accounts receivable including daily credit card deposits, cash deposits, third-party delivery, and other A/R sources.
  • Perform and complete monthly/period end bank reconciliations.
  • Review and approve the daily, weekly, and periodic checklist to ensure all necessary income and expense entries are made before closing the period.
  • Conduct the periodic close process for specific restaurants.
  • Make sure all balance sheet GL accounts are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Ensure that General Managers of your specific area are completing restaurant daily, weekly, and periodic accounting tasks.
  • Update W-9 information as needed to ensure annual 1099’s are accurate.
  • Reconcile School Order A/R.
  • Keep A/P aging up to date. 

 

SECONDARY ROLE:

  • Assist with operational finance reporting and entry.
  • Enter and reconcile credit card statements.
  • Create manual checks for Fundraisers/Donations.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable payments process.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ability to work well with other departments and have empathy for their time and skills.
  • Organized and efficient.
  • Strong understanding of debits and credits, along with basic accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Docs. 
  • Has aspirations to further their career in accounting and is willing to put in the work to get there.
  • Ability to translate accounting reports to non-accountants.
  • Excellent communicator – Thoughtful yet to the point.
  • Understands how to get people to do something for them through positive reinforcement and means.
  • Highly detailed (pennies, not dollars)
  • Although Someburros is growing, we still pride ourselves on an entrepreneurial spirit.  We want someone who sees no task as too small or is afraid to get their hands dirty (in accounting work).

 

Work Schedule: 

  • Full Time, 40 hours per week (or whatever hours are necessary to complete the job)
  • Monday – Friday
  • In/Out times are flexible but must be in the office between 9am – 3pm
