Northmarq is looking for an Investor Reporting Analyst to join its Servicing department in the Minneapolis (Bloomington, MN) headquarters office. This position requires a deadline-driven, organized, and detail-minded individual who will be responsible for reporting, remitting, and account reconciliations. The focus will be on higher-level analysis, management of assigned portfolios, confidence in decision making and recommendations, leadership within the team, high accuracy and attention to detail, a strong understanding of commercial loan terminology, and experience with investor reporting requirements. This position will be required to provide training and mentoring to others and lead or co-lead high-level projects. Additional responsibilities may be added to adapt to company growth (In line with department goals and objectives).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Report and remit monthly activity and ensure compliance to portfolio requirements. Monitor and manage necessary investor updates.
  • Complete monthly custodial account reconciliations.
  • Plan and schedule own workload to most efficiently meet deadlines, prioritizing according to risk and urgency.
  • Create and maintain guides or procedures to ensure reporting requirements are met. Assist department leadership with identifying process improvements.
  • Conduct due diligence of loan documents and servicing agreements to ensure proper loan setup.
  • Identify and manage high-risk remittance and reporting situations promptly and analyze the deficiencies according to risk and the potential impacts. Recommend courses of action based on the outcome of the applicable research.
  • Participate in investor audits, manage communication with the investors, and work to resolve any outstanding issues.
  • Maintain a high level of commercial real estate investor reporting expertise, with a strong understanding of commercial real estate terminology.
  • Work collaboratively with other Servicing and Production personnel on projects and to resolve issues. Demonstrate leadership both within the team and the Servicing Department.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is provided to all customers, internally and externally.
  • Support team members and confidently perform/lead other reasonable tasks/projects that utilize experience and expertise.
  • Welcome challenging assignments and added responsibilities, and seek feedback on the outcomes

What We're Looking For:

  • 4-year college degree with an emphasis in finance, accounting, or real estate; or equivalent relatable years of experience in finance, accounting, or real estate
  • 1-3 years of equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of Investor Reporting concepts
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information
  • Familiar with commercial loan terminology
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • High level of customer relationship management skills; looks for ways to add value beyond customers’ immediate requests
  • High level of organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, assignments and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to identify and analyze risk
  • High level of problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy required
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in all situations
  • Demonstrated work ethic and willingness to work extended hours when necessary
  • Ability to critically analyze processes and suggest improvements
