Human Resources Generalist
This team member provides professional and administrative support to the City's Human Resources department as directed. Responsibilities include providing customer service to City employees, applicants, and other organizations. This team member assists and coordinates professional human resources activities in recruiting, benefits, training, employee relations, performance management, compensation/classification, and/or testing to select, develop, and retain a qualified workforce in compliance with City policies and procedures. This individual performs various duties related to human resources, responds to employee and department inquiries and complaints, and provides human resources assistance to departments. This person will champion the City's Core Values of Accountability, Engagement, Stewardship, Service, Transparency, and Partnerships.
We are searching for someone with knowledge of federal, state, and City rules, regulations, and guidelines governing Human Resources management. An associate's degree or at least 60 college hours in Human Resources or Business Administration plus at least three (3) years of Human Resources experience is required for this position. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is highly preferred. Someone with an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that generates the requisite level of knowledge, skill, and ability is welcome to apply. Municipal experience is highly preferred. Human Resources certification(s) preferred.
