Summary

An immediate opening for an accounting manager for a national online precious metals retailer, lender, and depository and its related marketing and real estate holding companies. We are looking for an honest, detail-oriented, self-starter to lead our accounting team, reporting to the CFO.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working as a team member to support and elevate the accounting department.  This person will also focus on producing accurate and timely financial information. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands on support for the day-to day financial operations of the companies, including but not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and special projects
  • Assist with timely and accurate month end/year end closings, including account reconciliations, consolidations, and work paper preparation
  • Analyze financial data for accuracy, discrepancies and to make recommendations
  • Lead accounting team in performing their duties timely and effectively
  • Maintain confidentiality of company, customer, employee, payroll, accounting, and legal information
  • Ongoing evaluations of controls and development of more efficient procedures while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Work with A/R and A/P Specialists to identify and resolve financial reporting discrepancies
  • Assist CFO and outside CPA firms with preparation of audited financial statements and tax returns
  • Process payroll and maintain appropriate employee records
  • Be able to handle tight deadlines and accurate work
  • Communicate with internal and external clients

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 
  • Minimum of 5 years of general ledger accounting experience and a working knowledge of GAAP
  • Prior management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
  • Experience in various accounting systems, a plus
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
  • Excellent organization skills with attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
  • Must pass thorough background screening - including criminal and credit check and drug test
