Events & Facilities SPRING Intern:
Northwestern Athletics is looking for an energetic individual who can provide exceptional support to our E&F department on gamedays throughout the duration of the Spring. This includes weekly office hours to assist in preparation for gamedays, along with night and weekend support for various sporting events. This role serves to help the department ensure that all guests attending our competitions and special events have the best experience possible, while executing a successful event for the athletic department.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Report directly to Associate/Assistant Directors to assist with day-to-day tasks that require additional aid
- Attend weekly office hours to assist with gameday preparation such as paperwork, set-up, building maintenance, etc.
- Assist with coordination of recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Fan Services Team Members
- Assist with gameday deployment of security members and fan services team members
- Learn policies and procedures associated with gameday/day-to-day operations of NU Athletics
- Assist with evening building management as needed
- Assist with guest questions and ADA patrons attended special events/gamedays
- Provide world-class customer service and be knowledgeable about Walter Athletic Center/additional venues as needed
- Primary contact/liaison for spring camp dates involving NU Men’s/Women’s Soccer programs
- Provide additional support for event management as needed throughout the Spring
***SPRING ONLY: The Facilities and Events Intern will work many events held throughout our different athletic venues on campus. These will include but are not limited to: Olympic Sports such as Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, post-season tournaments, commencements, and other events hosted by the Northwestern University Department of Athletics and Recreation.
Schedule: Varying hours depending on events happening week-to-week
*This position is part-time and will be split between weekly office hours and gamedays/special events that occur on evenings and weekends.
*This position is allotted 1,000 hours for the entirety of the internship. Hours will be spaced out accordingly depending on the number of events/need for additional help each week.
Compensation: $15/hour
*This is a paid, non-benefits eligible part-time position.
