Instructs program participants orally and by demonstration in the fundamentals, rules, and techniques of a recreational specialty or several closely related specialties within one (1) of the following major activity categories:

Arts and crafts - e.g., ceramics, macramé, sculpture, string and drawing arts, and paper and leather crafts.

Performing arts - e.g., drama, dance, music, mime, voice, and puppetry.

Physical activities - e.g., soccer, boxing, cheerleading, gymnastics, and shuffleboard.

Domestic arts - e.g., cake decorating, cooking, baking, and sewing.

Table and group games - e.g., charades, card and party games, bridge, and chess.

Adventure recreation - e.g., archery, team building, canoeing, and kayaking.

Environmental education - e.g., birdwatching, fossil digs, ecosystems, and native animals.

Plans, organizes, and promotes classes or clinics to be instructed or conducted.

Requisitions supply, equipment, and material needs for classes and clinics to be instructed or conducted.

Supervises program participants and takes necessary steps to ensure that they adhere to standards of good conduct.

Maintains records and prepares reports.

May assist in planning, organizing, coordinating, and conducting competitive activities and special events; may assist in officiating and/or judging various competitive activities.
