Seasonal Camp Counselor

Location: Traditional Boys and Girls Summer Camp

Duration: Summer Season 2025


About the Role:

We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and caring individuals to join our team as Camp Counselors. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and safe environment for campers, facilitating daily activities, and fostering lasting relationships that make the summer unforgettable for everyone involved.


Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Safety: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all campers, maintaining a nurturing and supportive environment at all times.

Activity Leadership: Assist in planning, organizing, and leading various camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, team-building exercises, and evening programs.

Camper Engagement: Build meaningful connections with campers, offering guidance, encouragement, and mentorship to ensure a positive and enjoyable camp experience.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other counselors and staff to deliver a cohesive program and address any camper or group needs.

Conflict Resolution: Handle conflicts or behavioral challenges with patience and professionalism, fostering a culture of respect and inclusion.

Daily Responsibilities: Support campers with daily routines such as meals, transitions, and cabin activities, ensuring consistency and structure.


Qualifications & Skills:

Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to connect with children and teens, building trust and rapport in a short time.

Leadership: Proven leadership experience, whether in camp settings, schools, or extracurricular activities.

Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, adapting to changing circumstances and schedules.

Adaptability: Flexible and creative in problem-solving, able to remain calm and positive under pressure.

Role Model: High level of maturity and professionalism, serving as a role model for campers.

Communication: Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills to engage with campers, peers, and administrative staff. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with children, either in camp settings, schools, or childcare roles.

• CPR and First Aid certification - (offered during staff training)
