IT Generalist - La Jolla, CA
Overview
The Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) in La Jolla, CA has an immediate opening for an IT Generalist. This opening is located at IDA’s Center for Communications Research in La Jolla, California (CCR-L).
We are seeking an IT Generalist, who under direct supervision, assists IT staff in one or more IT disciplines, such as systems and development, cyber security or infrastructure operations.
We support transparency, equity, and fairness in our compensation program and provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range based on data-driven market analysis for each position. While it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $48,744-$77,986. Individual salary within this range will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience and unique skills or qualifications.
Responsibilities
1) Works under direct supervision on IT tasks of relatively simple, limited scope activities.
2) May assist with the implementation of various applications, routine analysis of a variety of information system tools.
3) May respond to user requests concerning systems problems.
4) Complies with and fully supports security and configuration management principles and procedures in all related activities.
5) Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree or a recent graduate preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field.
- Prior experience in Information Technology preferred.
- Possess fundamental knowledge and principles in programming or supporting computer systems and software or technical support.
- Must be organized, self-motivated and able to work with general supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form and with all levels of employees; possess good interpersonal skills.
- Must be willing to work hours outside of a regular schedule.
U.S. Citizenship is required
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required
