Engineering Assistant

Job Title: Engineering Assistant

Job Summary:
The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for essential administrative and technical tasks that support the engineering team, including tool ordering, programming, and procedure documentation. This role is crucial in providing consistent support for routine tasks, allowing engineers to focus on advanced engineering functions and innovation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Tooling Management: Manage new die orders, re-tooling, and tool visibility for Production and Commercial Operations to ensure inventory accuracy and availability.

·  Print Anilox Audits and Tool Purging: Conduct regular audits on Anilox rollers or work with an outside vendor and manage tooling purging activities to maintain optimal tool quality and storage capacity.

·  Incoming Inspection: Perform incoming inspections for new tooling and parts, ensuring they meet quality specifications.

·  Dyne Level Testing: Conduct dyne level testing on incoming materials to ensure ink adhesion quality for production.

·  Lab Testing Support: Assist in basic lab testing activities to verify material properties and meet product specifications.

·  Programming Support: Provide technical assistance for programming tasks while managing variable and serialized data.

·  Procedure Documentation: Create and update technical documentation (Tech data sheets, Customer and Internal Drawings) and SOPs to support consistent and compliant processes for all areas within TLP.

·  Calibration Management:  Maintaining and calibrating measuring templates and tools.

Required Qualifications:

·  Experience in technical support or related roles within engineering or manufacturing environments.

·  Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and understanding of technical drawings and documentation.

·  Proficiency in using data management tools such as Microsoft Excel or similar along with Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) 

·  Basic understanding of testing methods (e.g., dyne level) or willingness to learn and perform testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Prior experience in lab testing, quality control, or similar support roles.

·  Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software used for flexographic printing.

·  Proficiency with ERP systems.

·  Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing recurring tasks with accuracy.

Work Environment:
This role will involve a mix of office-based tasks and time in lab or production areas for testing and inspections. The Technical Support Specialist must observe all required safety measures when working in production or lab environments.
