Estimating Intern
Position Summary
The Estimating Intern will work collaboratively with the preconstruction department to support various estimating projects while gaining hands-on experience. The intern will work closely with experienced estimators, project managers, and subcontractors to develop accurate and competitive bids. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to real-world project estimates and develop essential estimating and preconstruction skills.

Internal: Works closely with preconstruction department and team members across different departments.
External: Clients, architects, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and partners.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and requirements.
- Perform on screen takeoffs to assist in the evaluation of subcontractor and vendor pricing.
- Compile and evaluate data on all factors that influence costs, such as materials, labor, location, and duration.
- Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Maintain and update cost databases, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Prepare and organize bid documents and presentations.
- Collaborate with project managers and the pre-construction team to develop value engineering options.
- Assist in maintaining relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the estimating and pre-construction team.

Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous internship or work experience in construction or estimating is a plus.
- Knowledge of estimating software is preferred.
