Summer at Laurel Junior Instructor

Position Summary:

The Summer at Laurel Jr. Instructor operates on Laurel’s Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights and Butler Campus in Novelty. Summer camp operates Monday through Friday 9:00-4:00 from June 9 - July 25th in one and two week sessions. The Summer at Laurel program is a co-ed program which serves students from 2 years through rising 8th grade. Summer at Laurel Jr. Instructors work closely with the Lead instructors  to ensure a safe, nurturing, fun and efficient Summer program. *This is a seasonal position that requires at least a two week commitment.

 

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Monitor students in the camp group they are assigned to and provide a safe and fun experience for all campers.
  • Change diapers and assist in toilet training, as needed.
  • When transporting campers from one location to another, always ensure all campers are accounted for
    before departing and after arrival
  • Consistently enforce policies and procedures
  • Support lead in group activities, such as crafts, field trips, special events, and outdoor activities.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers
  • Encourage hygienic practices, such as handwashing, and assist in clean-up.
  • Be in attendance Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:00 p.m. daily.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Preferred Experience:  Education majors entering Junior or Senior year of college.
