Director of  Children's Ministry

Full Devotion-FBC Canton is seeking a Director of Children’s Ministry to join our team. Working with children from infants through sixth grade, the Director’s goal is to facilitate Christian Biblical learning with fun and exciting programs that help children grow in their faith.

TIME COMMITMENT:

  • Approximately 10-12 hours/week (Number of hours varies by the scheduled events and time of year)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide vision and leadership for children’s ministry program
  • Work alongside  Children’s Ministry Team providing a biblically sound, fun, and vibrant children’s program
  • Recruit, equip, train, and inspire volunteers
  • Maintain program growth through promotion, inviting, and personal conversations
  • Utilize the spiritual gifts of the congregation
  • Grow and enhance the program as needed
  • Utilize opportunities supported and funded by the church for Continuing Ed/Training
  • Conduct Background check & educate  adults on protocol when working with children

CHURCH SCHOOL/WORSHIP:

  • Oversee Sunday morning programming to meet our vision.(S.S./ Kids worship)
  • Oversee Sunday evening Kid’s Club.
  • Oversee curriculum and recruit/manage volunteers for annual Vacation Bible School
  • Evaluate new curriculum as needed

FAITH DEVELOPMENT/FELLOWSHIP EVENTS/MISSION OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Direct and plan Easter Children’s activity, Summer outings, October activity
  • Direct and assist with family night events, fall kickoff, camping ministry etc.
  • Encourage, and help assist with mission projects (e.g., Angel Tree, Operation Christmas Child, etc.)

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Organizational skills (self-starter, detail-oriented, multi-tasking, and ability to delegate)
  • Technology skills to operate Computer, Video, Sound etc.
  • Ability to use software to foster communication, create presentations, manage data, enhance social media, etc.
  • Good inter-personal skills with both children and adults
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and creativity
  • Warm, caring and demonstrating a willingness to know and love families
  • Having a great passion for God’s children

  • Vacation:  1-3 years – 1 wk/yr paid vacation equivalent to work week.  Time off increases with tenure
