Ohio Valley Goodwill Process Engineer Internship
The Process Engineer Internship offers hands-on experience in optimizing production workflows and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the organization. The Intern will work under the guidance of the Vice President of Operations, and collaborate closely with various departments (including Production Operations, Recycling Operations and Retail Outlet Operations) to gain insights into process engineering fundamentals.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Process Engineering Intern to support our Operations Department in analyzing, designing, and optimizing processes. The intern will assist in identifying inefficiencies, developing solutions, and implementing improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and safety. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in process engineering, working closely with professionals in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Process Analysis & Improvement: Assist in evaluating current operational and recycling processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing optimization strategies.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to production performance, yield, cycle times, and other key metrics.
  • Project Support: Collaborate with the Operations team on various projects, including designing process flow diagrams, creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), and updating process documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with safety, retail, and facilities teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure process stability.

  Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of process engineering principles, data analysis
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and approach problem-solving with a structured, analytical mindset.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Preferred Skills: Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, etc).
