The Watanabe Lab at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a highly motivated research technician in a lung cancer biology laboratory. The Watanabe lab's primary interest is to understand the transcriptional programs of lung cancer. Our group uses cutting-edge technologies including single cell RNA sequencing and ChIP sequencing to characterize lineage programs governing lung cancers.

Candidates should have completed a bachelors degree in biological sciences within this past few years. No previous experience pertinent to this research filed is required, however, experience working in the laboratory, particularly in molecular biology, is preferred. We are looking for an individual with aspiration to pursue PhD degree after this position.

The successful candidate will be involved in a research that intersects lung biology and cancer biology and utilizes multiple genomics technologies, and will have opportunities to learn cutting-edge science. Primary responsibility includes performing cell cultures, and a wide range of molecular biology and next-generation sequencing experiments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in acquiring strong research experience in genomics technologies before pursuing a degree in a competitive MD/PhD or PhD program.
