Video Producer

Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for visual media? Join the dynamic team at the University of Dayton's Marketing & Communications division as our Video Producer! In this role, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your talent and shape the narrative of our esteemed institution.

As a member of University Marketing’s Media Production team, the video producer will work on videos to support the University’s marketing strategy. Your work will play a vital role in enhancing the reputation of this top-tier, private university.

We are looking for an experienced video professional who can work collaboratively with a small crew to create high-quality videos. The video producer reports to the executive director of media productions. You will support the existing team while also being capable of managing a project from start to finish.

The primary role for this position is project management including pre-production planning, concept development and scheduling. The video producer will also have a role in directing video shoots and overseeing post-production. Qualified candidates will have the ability to assist with all aspects of production. While videography is not the primary responsibility of the video producer, qualified applicants will display expertise in shot composition, camera operation and lighting. This position will work collaboratively with our full-time video editor, and ideal candidates will have experience with video editing.

This is an on-site position. Candidates must be able to work on campus in Dayton, Ohio.

Minimum Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to organize and plan video projects
- ability to interact effectively with students, clients and coworkers
- expertise in videography, with a strong portfolio of video work
- video editing capabilities
- ability to tell compelling stories visually
- strong attention to detail, creativity and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
 

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- bachelor's degree
- three or more years of professional experience in video production
- experience directing video shoots
- strong written and interpersonal skills
- understanding of trends in digital marketing
- proficiency in video editing software including Adobe Premiere
- experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities
