Summary

This position is located in Yosemite National Park, in the Division of Business Management and serves as the Housing Officer for the Branch of Housing Management for Yosemite National Park, duty stationed in Mariposa, CA. The position is responsible for the administrative management of approximately 311 housing units and is a Code 4 Supervisor (supervisory duties less than 25 percent of the time).

Duties

Major Duties include:

  • Manages approximately 311 geographically dispersed housing which include both required and permitted occupants.
  • Coordinates between the housing office and the fiscal office to facilitate the timely and accurate billing of rent and other bills of collection generated by housing occupancy issues and rental recovery.
  • Performs a wide range of federal, state, agency and local housing policies and requirements.
  • Uses administrative practices and procedures to perform broad management planning, budgeting, scheduling and coordination of resources for effective and efficient operation and use of housing facilities and implementation of housing policies.
  • Negotiates broad program issues with counterparts in other services and agencies, community organizations and occupants.
  • Uses knowledge of housing projects or facilities and skill in developing related local plans, directives and other administrative guides.

You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1-2 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.

Yosemite National Park, California, known worldwide for its spectacular natural beauty is the backdrop for this position. Sitting astride the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the park covers 1,182 square miles of varied wilderness ecosystems, from river valleys to alpine meadows to lofty 13,000-foot-high peaks. Yosemite Valley is located 208 miles from San Francisco, 81 miles from Merced, and 94 miles from Fresno. Shopping, medical, postal and laundry services are available in the park. Elevation at the Valley floor is approximately 4,000 feet and 2,200 feet in El Portal. The park is open year-round with the majority of activities occurring during the busy season March through October.
