Entry-Level Asset Manager: Technology Services Division (Water Services Department)

About the Position: The City of Phoenix Water Services Department (WSD) Technology Services Division (TSD) is seeking enthusiastic college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates for an Asset Management internship opportunity. This role offers hands-on training to build foundational skills in asset management, data analysis, and technology solutions used to optimize asset lifecycles. Interns will work closely with seasoned professionals, gaining insights into managing and tracking critical assets within the city's water services infrastructure.

This compensated internship offers a flexible schedule ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week based on the candidate’s availability and department needs. Interns will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and build skills in asset management principles, data systems, and resource optimization strategies, which are essential for advancing in a future career within asset management and related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with asset data collection, tracking, and analysis, working with the department’s asset management system.
  • Shadow senior Asset Managers in conducting asset assessments and lifecycle management.
  • Support the documentation and maintenance of asset records, inventory updates, and work order management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with asset management policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other process documents related to asset management.
  • Learn about strategic planning, resource allocation, and other foundational aspects of asset management through hands-on activities and guided training sessions.

This internship is fully onsite, requiring physical presence to work with team members.

Compensation:

This is a paid internship program with a flexible schedule, offering 20 to 40 hours per week.
