About the Position: The City of Phoenix Water Services Department is seeking motivated college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates to join its Technology Services Internship Program. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fundamentals of critical applications support. Interns will work alongside experienced IT professionals to learn essential skills, providing valuable exposure to real-world technology infrastructure and application support for large-scale systems.
This compensated internship offers a flexible schedule of 20-40 hours per week, based on the candidate’s availability and organizational needs. Interns will receive structured training and have opportunities to collaborate with teams supporting Oracle Utilities applications, including Customer Care & Billing (CC&B), Work Asset Management (WAM), Mobile Workforce Management (MWM), and ITRON meter-reading applications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing technical support for critical applications within the Water Services Department.
- Support the analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of software and system issues.
- Shadow and assist senior staff in daily activities, including system monitoring, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Learn and support the development of system configurations to meet business requirements.
- Work collaboratively with technical and business staff from various departments.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project work as appropriate.
- Perform data extraction and assist in report development and business intelligence dashboards.
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in information technology and critical systems support.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Eagerness to learn and apply new technologies and concepts.
- Enrollment in or completion of a degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of system infrastructure, software support, or IT environments.
- Familiarity with business systems or Oracle Utilities applications (a plus but not required).
This internship is fully onsite, requiring physical presence to work with team members.
Compensation:
This is a paid internship program with a flexible schedule, offering 20 to 40 hours per week.
