Training Resource Intern
Position Summary
The Missouri State Public Defender (MSPD) is seeking one or more creative, clever, and detail-oriented individuals to serve as our Training Resource Intern(s). These individuals will support the training division in providing quality representation to clients charged with criminal offenses, expand their access to justice and work to improve the equity and fairness of the criminal legal system.
As a Training Resource Intern, you will have the opportunity to:
- Design and appraise a creative legal motion database;
- Revise and expand an expert witness pool;
- Edit and enhance recorded trainings and presentations;
- Attend MSPD trainings; and
- Maintain quality of training resources
Requirements
MSPD’s Training Division has a professional, friendly, team-oriented environment. As such, our Training Resource intern(s) should:
- Be an undergraduate, graduate, or law student with an interest in law, public service, professional development, or communications.
- Have strong organizational skills and be detailed-oriented;
- Have a demonstrated work ethic and positive attitude;
- Have a passion for lifelong learning and growth mindset; and
- Have a desire to further the mission and training of criminal public defense in Missouri.
Position Description
Full-time or part-time positions available.
Flexible dates and hours.
Training Center located in Columbia, MO with remote work possible.
This position is unpaid, but eligible for academic credit if approved by your institution.
