Asset Scheduler & Material Planner

Seeking a new and challenging opportunity to further enhance your career? The Electronics and Industrial Business is seeking an Asset Scheduler & Material Planner for the Laminates Business supporting the Towanda, PA manufacturing facility. 

This will be accountable for day-to-day activities required to create and maintain detailed production/supply schedules based on the master scheduling input or established pull signals. This role will serve as the point person between the supply organization and plant to clearly define / understand short term production issues and supply needs between the organizations. Utilizes detailed capacity plans, and interfaces with Unit Manager, Area Manager and supervisors and/or production teams.

In this role, the successful candidate will be accountable for balancing the productivity and capacity within the production area with customer delivery needs.  They will be responsible for ensuring that tactical processes required to make and ship materials is happening according to plan or communicating any deviations to that plan. This includes scheduling and managing semi-finished material and working with the manufacturing team to ensure that a high velocity is maintained through the process. The asset scheduler is responsible to maintain valid schedules for the near-term production horizon.  “Valid schedules” refers to the time sequenced availability of materials required to ship from the site and ensuring that resources are available to supply the materials at the right time, quality and quantity. 

 This role is located at the Towanda Site or at Chestnut Run Plaza. 

What do we expect from you?

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversees daily production schedules during planning horizon and coordinates changes to those schedules.
  • Ensures schedules are continually maintained and communicated throughout the supply chain.
  • Highlights and actively participate in the identification and resolution of inventory, customer order issues, and quality issues as they develop.  Work closely with Master scheduler and order planning personnel.
  • Communicates production issues, supply changes, deviations from plan and potential resolutions to appropriate parties.
  • Manages performance standards and analysis methods to compare actual production performance against the established standards.
  • Monitors process orders & assuring closed as needed, accurate process orders are used to maintain system & data integrity
  • Serves as the primary interface between manufacturing, supply chain, and customer service. 
  • Works with manufacturing to optimize the plant schedule along with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Co-ordinates the production scheduling with maintenance planning and scheduling needs.
  • Validates planned semi-finished material is available as needed for the asset schedule.
  • Validates master data of assigned areas and products including lot sizing, period factors, and other planning parameters.
  • Drives Improvement in ERP System discipline and planning data.  Works with the site production controls team to integrate operations practices into planning systems.
  • Communicates schedule changes to Master Schedulers and material planners and updates expected availability within the planning system.
  • Manages inventory for responsible products ensuring flow, and that non-productive inventory is identified appropriately dispositioned, and worked to resolution.
  • Leads resolution of short-term supply/demand imbalances for products shipping from the Circleville and Bayport plants.
  • Create, validate, and maintain a valid materials plan based upon the master production schedule
  • Schedule and manage the execution of material deliveries against existing contracts or purchase orders
  • Participate in and provide data for evaluation of supplier service performance and work with sourcing and suppliers to improve performance

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in supply chain or related field
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
  • APICS (CPIM) Certified in Production and Inventory Management preferred
  • Familiar and competent in the use of SAP/OMP preferred
  • Demonstrated strength in planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to run multiple projects or initiatives at a time
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in the US without restrictions
