Development Director
As the Development Director atM ission Creek Camp, you will play acrucial role in securing the resources necessary to support our mission and enhance the camp experience for individuals with special needs. This would include improving facilities and complying with ADA standards. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of fundraising, donor relations, and community outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue goals, including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and special events.
2. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Cultivate relationships with existing and prospective donors, including individuals, foundations, corporations, and community organizations. Ensure timely and meaningful stewardship of donors to maintain long-term support.
3. Grant Writing and Management: Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with camp priorities. Prepare grant proposals, reports, and other materials as required. Manage grant calendars, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
4. Special Events: Plan and execute fundraising events, such as galas, auctions, and community outreach activities. Coordinate logistics, recruit volunteers, and oversee event budgets to maximize revenue and engagement.
5.Marketing and Communications: Collaborate with the marketing director to develop messaging and materials that effectively communicate the camp's impact and funding needs. Utilize various channels, including social media, email campaigns, and print materials, to engage donors and supporters.
6. Board and Committee Engagement: Work closely with the President of Board of Directors and relevant committees to provide fundraising guidance, support,and regular progress updates. Attend board meetings and present fundraising reports as needed.
7. Budget Oversight: Collaborate with the Executive Director and finance team to develop and manage the annual fundraising budget. Monitor revenue and expenses, analyze financial data, and adjust strategies as needed to ensure financial sustainability.
8. Collaboration and Teamwork: Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork across departments, including program staff, volunteers, and external partners. Serve as a liaison between development and other functional areas to ensure alignment and integration of efforts.
9.Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with relevant fundraising regulations, including donor privacy laws, tax requirements, and ethical standards. Maintain accurate donor records, gift acknowledgments, and reporting systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or arelated field.is preferred.
Minimum of 3 to5 years of experience in nonprofit development, with a proven track record of successful fundraising and donor relationship management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the camp's mission and impact to diverse audiences.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in donor management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
