Key Responsibilities:
The Pilot Crew Scheduler will work closely supporting our pilots with their schedules, ensuring timely flight departures throughout United’s worldwide network. This is a fast-paced operational position working different shifts in a 24/7/365 operation, including weekends and holidays, with the potential for overtime in line with department policies.
- Assign open flying to qualified flight crew members according to FAA Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), the United Pilot Agreement, and company policies
- Analyze pilot staffing, time off requests, assignments, and trip trades
- Apply efficient scheduling practices while adhering to all FAA FAR and United Pilot Agreement work rules
- Assist pilots with monthly schedule management, detailing absences, performing transactions to ensure accurate crew pay, preserving pilot activity records, and assuring quality (FAR compliance, flight time, qualification data, etc.)
- Maintain proficiency in the application of Federal Aviation regulations, pilot contract rules, and company policies to provide 24/7 support to United Airlines pilots, ensuring an outstanding level of internal customer service
- Support in training new schedulers via on-the-job training sessions
- Opportunity for additional responsibilities related to crew scheduling operations and planning may be available or assigned based on operational needs

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proven track record of strong analytical, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to exercise flexibility and good judgment while managing stress in fast paced situations
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good computer knowledge and adaptability to new computer tools
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience in Additional consideration given to specializations in aviation, transportation and logistics, strategic planning, engineering, or technology
- 1-2 years relevant crew scheduling or airline experience
- 1-2 years scheduling operations experience and/or experience working in a fast pace environment requiring high volume customer interaction
