Registrar - Summit Academy

OVERVIEW:

To maintain accurate and reliable information about student records and files in a computerized system in order to retrieve and convey information to appropriate parties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Moderate proficiency in typing with good accuracy; excellent test battery; excellent knowledge and usage of English grammar; high math aptitude
  • Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc); experience with district based student database Synergy preferred
  • Ability to operate general office machines and equipment
  • Knowledge of school policies; public school experience preferred
  • Ability to organize, to prioritize, to use initiative and to meet deadlines with an accurate attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with students, teachers, parents, district personnel and general public; to be tactful and diplomatic at all times; to maintain confidentiality

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Extensive telephone contact with parents and general public
  • Work closely and cooperatively with teachers and counselors; with special education department and teachers regarding scheduling; and counselors regarding schedule changes
  • Record grades, Arizona reading, math and writing requirements and credits for ninth graders on permanent record cards
  • Compile weekly enrollment reports
  • Implement the registration process of new students and withdrawal of all students
  • Maintain boundary exception forms
  • Keep appropriate records and complete required reports
  • Train and supervise registration assistant
  • Regular and on-time attendance required
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Perform general clerical tasks
  • Request for and receive transcripts
  • Assist attendance clerk when needed
  • Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
