About the Job:
We are building a manufacturing company that employees love to work for and customers love to buy from. We desire to maximize our potential through best practices in production. This includes improving quality, redesigning our production assembly flow, and adding more automation. You will learn about and be part of this process as well as shaping a manufacturing process for new products. A building expansion will create an opportunity to rethink and maximize our production potential. This is an exciting time to join the Diamondback team and have a huge impact on our product and manufacturing process.
Principle Duties:
- Work alongside DiamondBack Engineers to refine and develop new automation for our manufacturing facility
- Work alongside Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Manufacturing Engineers as they design expansion for our facility, automate processes using the latest technology, and improve all processes and safety measures
- Provide support to Maintenance, Quality, and Purchasing teams
- Work alongside DiamondBack Engineers to troubleshoot and research best solutions to common problems
- The intern may have the opportunity to take on other assignments with departments beyond Manufacturing Engineering to gain more experience in both business, engineering, and manufacturing
Required Skills, Knowledge, Education, and Training:
- Junior, or Senior, or graduate of a college-level engineering program (Electro-Mechanical, Mechanical preferred) .
- Interest and/or experience in working in a manufacturing environment, preferably with metal fabrication.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proven experience through engineering projects in your coursework
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Computer proficiency- experience with G Suite, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and PLCs
- Interest and experience in working with robotics, sheet metal, LEAN Manufacturing, and machinery
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in engineering as a hobby- you enjoy building and refining things outside of work, too!
