Remote/Telework up to 60%. Note: During probation telework may gradually increase to 60% (i.e. working remotely three (3) days per week, and reporting to the 2135 Rimrock Road, Madison WI building, two (2) days per week) within 9 months (of 12-month probation period) based on performance and workload needs.
Following the 12-month probation, remote/telework would continue at 60%, requiring that you report to the Madison office building, two (2) days per week. Please note there is no option for 100% remote/telework, this is NOT negotiable.

Your Role
As a Software Developer, you will help achieve the agency goal of enabling DOR to operate efficiently and effectively. Your software developer tasks will include:
- Develop, enhance, test, maintain and support Department of Revenue (DOR) IT applications consisting of commercial off-the-shelf packaged application (COTS), WINPAS (Wisconsin Income Processing and Audit System), in-house custom developed applications and subsystems on client-server and web-based platforms.
- Support the overall life cycle for creating, maintaining, and supporting DOR IT applications through requirements gathering, analysis, development, implementation, and testing of applications.
- As a team-member, participate in projects to develop IT applications that support DOR business processes.
- Participate in work sessions to define design and system alternatives in response to customer requests.
- Develop specifications according to DOR systems development, project management and configuration management methodologies.

Salary for these IS Systems Development Services Professional positions (schedule-range 07-35) is $50,793 to $65,977 annually; ($24.42 to $31.72 hourly), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required.
The Department of Revenue will conduct criminal background, tax compliance checks and fingerprint checks on candidates prior to offer of hire.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. The Department of Revenue does not sponsor work or student visas, either at time of hire or at any later time. DOR participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with Form I-9 information for all new employees to confirm authorization to work in the U.S.
Minimum qualified candidates will have each of the following:
1. Experience or formal training developing code using a minimum of one (1) of the following: Microsoft .NET, JAVA, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET.
2. Experience or formal training developing database applications using a minimum of one (1) of the following: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL, DB2, or similar relational database.
3. Experience or formal training in testing information technology (IT) applications.
Well qualified candidates will have a minimum of one (1) of the following (in addition to the minimum qualifications):
1. Experience in designing or enhancing IT applications.
2. Experience building task lists or schedules related to IT application design and/or software development.
3. Experience in creating or documenting systems development specifications.
4. IT project management experience or training.
