Tax Intern
Job description
The Tax Intern will be primarily engaged in the preparation of tax returns during the Tax Season. This includes, but is not limited to, Puerto Rico and Federal Income tax returns for individuals and corporations, Personal Property Taxes, among others. The ideal candidate is expected to be available at least 25 hours per week (preferably full time).
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and assist with simple to complex tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Perform tax research when necessary
- Participate in client meetings
- Assistance with office duties and related tax and accounting work, as needed by other team members.
- Adhere to the firm's policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- BA/BS in Accounting or related field, or two years of program from accredited university with a 3.0 GPA or above.
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts involved in tax return preparation.
- Strong technical, analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Spanish & English)
- Excellent client service interaction, with an ability to handle pressure in a positive, professional manner.
