Job Summary: 

Laboratory Sample Processor (Diagnostics)

3 month Contract-to-hire

$20-22/hr commensurate with experience & education

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Sample Management Specialist to join our laboratory team. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for the management of specimens, including sample reception, handover, inventory control, and the preparation and dispatch of sample-related consumable kits. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of samples within our laboratory. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Receive, assent, and process tissue specimens according to established laboratory procedures, ensuring proper documentation and chain of custody. 

Manage the handover of samples between departments, maintaining clear communication and accurate records to prevent mix-ups or errors. 

Oversee sample inventory, including sample storage, retrieval, and disposal, while adhering to laboratory standards and regulatory requirements. 

Prepare and manage consumable kits for sample collection, ensuring all necessary materials are included and properly organized. 

Coordinate the shipping of consumable kits to external partners or satellite laboratories while maintaining appropriate tracking and documentation. 

Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure the availability of consumables and to optimize sample handling procedures. 

Monitor the quality control and quality assurance standards for sample management processes. 

Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to sample handling, storage, or consumable kit preparation. 

Maintain detailed records of sample management activities, including but not limited to logs of sample receipts, dispatches, and inventory levels. 

Assist in the development and implementation of new sample management protocols and techniques to improve efficiency and compliance. 

Ensure the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and chemicals in compliance with safety regulations. 

Maintain laboratory inventory, restocking reagents and consumables as needed to support ongoing operations. 

Assist in the receipt, storage, and warehouse inventory management of instruments, equipment, reagents, and consumables. 

Any other duties that the Management may assign from time to time. 

 

Qualifications: 

College degree or above in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related majors. 

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical lab or similar role, with a focus on sample management. 

Proficiency in sample handling and inventory management. 

Knowledge of laboratory information systems for sample tracking. 

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. 

Strong organizational and time management skills. 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Effective communication skills to interact with laboratory staff and external partners. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Proficiency in Mandarin is highly preferred. 

Prior experience in sample management at a medical testing laboratory is preferred. 

Prior experience in CRO service and familiar with GCP regulations is preferred. 

Understanding of professional testing procedures and sample characteristics. 

 

Working Conditions: 

This position may involve contact with blood samples. 

Must adhere to laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements. 

Prolonged standing may be required.
