Job Description: 

Work with engineers to prepare calibration standards and samples, set up run logs on analytical instruments such as GCMS, and data entry, 

You will be responsible for the materials characterization of drive media and heads and the analysis of trace organics with the goal of understanding cause of failure.  

Your job will be to operate instrumentation such as scanning electron microscope, atomic force microscope, Raman spectrometer, and gas chromatography mass spectrometer and preparing heads and media for analysis. 

You should be comfortable working with complicated research tools, handling small items without contaminating, and working with organic solvents.  

Other responsibilities include collecting data for first level reporting. 

Required Skills: 

Need to have a science background preferably in chemistry or materials science with some lab experience  

Can handle solvents and prepare calibration and standard solutions. 

Should be comfortable handling solvents and working with analytical instruments. 

Good if also have AFM, SEM/EDX, and FTIR experience.
