lName of Internship: Nonprofit Fundraising Intern

Department: Development

Internship Term: December 1, 2024–May 6, 2025  
(Note: Term could possibly extend beyond May based on interest and availability.)

Houry Rate: $16.00 per hour

Hours per Week: 15-20

Student Type: Undergraduate or Graduate Student

Work Location: Hybrid or Remote for students not living or studying in the NYC area

Internship Description 

In support of the Development Department, which is charged with raising $4 million per year, the intern will perform the following duties:

  • Donor Research
    • Develop research profiles on individual and institutional prospects and donors
  • Salesforce Data Entry and Cleanup 
    • Update Salesforce with contact data and related documents, such as donation-related documents and research profiles
    • Recurring Salesforce maintenance to clean up bad or inaccurate data
  • Donor Communications 
    • Based upon skills and experience, create and design fundraising collateral
    • Create and send acknowledgement letters to donors in a timely manner
    • Retain and file donor correspondence
    • Support mailings and campaigns
    • Work with the marketing team to ensure timely creation of invites for events
  • Meeting and Event Support 
    • Track RSVPs and share updates with internal stakeholders
    • If located in the NYC area: support Development Coordinator and Development Manager in event-related tasks, such as school outreach, packing day-of materials, setup, and cleanup
