Principal, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), the nation’s 9th largest school district, located in the Washington D.C. region, seeks an experienced, capable, and visionary principal to lead the prestigious Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST).
TJHSST has consistently ranked among the best high schools in America. A Virginia Governor’s school, it was forged through local partnerships to improve education in science, mathematics, and technology. In addition to providing specialized education for advanced scholars in Fairfax County, TJHSST also serves select students from neighboring districts. With enrollment of over 2,100, the school offers an array of enriched coursework to include Research Statistics, Multivariable Calculus, Neurobiology, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and more. TJHSST is also home to specialized laboratories from astronomy to oceanography and geosystems, with a dedicated faculty to support student research.
In this role, the principal will work collaboratively with division partners to direct the planning and assessment of instruction, communication, community relations, safety, and administrative management of the programs and facilities of Thomas Jefferson. Qualifications: Postgraduate Professional License with endorsement in Administration and Supervision preK-12, plus six (6) years of experience in teaching and learning, with three (3) years of administrative experience.
