SUMMARY
The intern will support the Research and Development team by successfully delivering on their assigned responsibilities while making a substantial contribution to the R & D Department ROI.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety protocols during all projects and activities. Identify and address any safety concerns or potential hazards within the laboratory processes.
- Perform testing, experimentation, and validation to support product design and development, working independently.
- Discusses unusual phenomena and expresses opinions to mentor. Utilizes innovative approaches to solve problems. Develops new techniques and procedures.
- Maintains laboratory notebook (or computer files), including equipment and conditions used, specific details concerning experiments, observations, results obtained, conclusions, etc.
- Contribute to design solution activity through utilization of previously learned skills with design of experiments, simulation tools, fundamental principles, and experienced mentorship from seasoned R&D Team.
- Communicates effectively, orally or in writing with a variety of professionals, peers, and service providers. Gives oral presentations concerning research activities as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of related engineering discipline functional and technical skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
- Good writing skills and interpersonal skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (ACS accredited program or Chemical Engineering).
Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
